It should roll out in a few weeks’ time
After ASUS rolled out Android Pie to the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z, it appears that the ROG Phone will be the next phone from the Taiwanese company to receive the update. This was confirmed in a GeekBench listing, where the ROG Phone (carrying model number Z01QD) was benchmarked running Android Pie.
Comparing it to the results we got, the Android Pie-powered ROG Phone scored lower in single core tests but scored higher in multi-core tests. These can possibly imply that the Android Pie update improves the ROG Phone’s overall performance, but we will have to wait for the official build to confirm this.
Since it was spotted in GeekBench, this means that ASUS is more or less done finalizing the official build, so expect a wider rollout in the coming weeks.
