ASUS ZenFone 6 Prototypes Reveal Different Notch Placements

Along with possible triple camera setups, waterproofing

It has been 8 months since the launch of the ZenFone 5 family, and ASUS is preparing for the ZenFone 6 family in time for next year. Recently, tech YouTuber C4Etech revealed various ZenFone 6 prototypes have surfaced, and ASUS appears to be exploring different options for the notch placement.

The first one is a hole cut out design similar to what Samsung plans for the upcoming Galaxy A8s. This approach literally leaves a small hole on the display for the front camera. This prototype makes use of a 3D curved glass back and a center-mounted camera module similar to OnePlus’ implementation.

The second one involves an unusual waterdrop notch placement found on the right side of the phone. Like the first prototype, it does have a chin but the second prototype comes in two models: one with waterproofing and one without it.

Lastly, the third prototype settles for a more conventional waterdrop notch placement similar to what most brands are doing nowadays. Unlike the first two prototypes, this one comes with a triple rear camera setup. The bottom camera comes with red accents, which possibly signify a special camera module like an ultra-wide-angle lens.

Between the three prototypes, the third one is the most plausible design for the upcoming ZenFone 6. If ASUS will follow their launch schedule for the ZenFone 5, we expect them to launch the ZenFone 6 family during MWC 2019.
