Unbox.ph Best of IFA List

Over the last three days we’ve written over 50 articles, most of which were about the latest gadget announcements from IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany. To close our coverage we did a review of all the launches and we put together a short list of trends and gadgets that we consider to be the very best of IFA 2015. Check them out below!

Octa-core? That’s yesterday’s tech. Acer took things to a next level with their announcement of the Predator 6. This beast packs a 10-core (deca) processor from Mediatek. Read more about it here.

II. Everyone’s into smartwatches: ASUS, Samsung, Huawei, Alcatel, Motorola!

This year’s IFA could easily have been mistaken as a conference for wearable technology, more specifically smartwatches. Almost all the major announcements included a wearable or two. We saw the second generation Moto 360, the Tizen-powered Galaxy Gear S2, the premium Huawei Watch, the weird Alcatel Go Watch, and the super affordable ASUS ZenWatch.

III. Sony’s New Flagship Line-up

Sony totally crushed the rumor that they were exiting the mobile business with their flagship line-up announcement at IFA. The Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium are all great offerings and we’re excited to get our hands on them in the coming months ahead.

IV. Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro: Gamer and Movie/TV Buff’s Dream Tablet?

Lenovo continues to push the limits on what you can put in an Android Tablet with their Yoga 3 Pro offering. It’s not everyday that you see decently priced and competitively specced Android tablets that can also project a 70-inch image/video on your wall. Read more about it here.

V. Samsung SleepSense: Glimpse of Tomorrow

One of the most exciting things about IFA was that we got a glimpse of what the future holds for us with the Internet of Things through Samsung’s Smart Things. The Samsung SleepSense has so much potential and hopefully we get to see that land here in the Philippines so we can give it a full review.

VI. ASUS Chairman is as Energetic as Ever

ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih is as energetic as ever. He probably wins our nod as the best presenter for IFA. His english wasn’t good but his passion, confidence, and sincerity all came across very well. Watch him in action below.

And that’s it for our IFA 2015 coverage. If you want to read all the articles about IFA, click here.
