BlackBerry Bold 9900 Launched in the US

Research In Motion just announced their latest new smartphones at the BlackBerry World Conference in the US – the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 (CDMA). The most noticeable difference from the Bold 9780 is the all new thinner and sleeker design. It has a stainless steel band and a fiberglass back. Yes, there’s no mistaking it… the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the sexiest handset ever launched by RIM. This thing is gorgeous.

Other than the design, the Bold 9900 is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and has touchscreen capabilities (called Liquid graphics). It also has support for 4G/HSPA+ (I’m not sure if this is the technology that Smart is Globe is rolling out though). The new bold also has the latest OS – BlackBerry 7 which features the touch-based navigation, faster web browsing, and up to 60 FPS. The displays also have up to 287 dpi. One of the best screens RIM has ever shipped.

The Bold 9900/9930 will also have NFC (Near Field Communications) which is something that’s yet to be maximized internationally (what more here right).

Not price yet or scheduled launch date for the Philippines. I’d definitely rather have this than the BlackBerry Torch 9800.
