BlackBerry PlayBook

Research In Motion’s highly anticipated and talked about tablet is finally going to see the light of day! They recently announced that they’re now accepting pre-orders and that the BlackBerry PlayBook will be in stores (US & Canada) by April 9, 2011. What’s interesting is that they were able to live up to their promise to make the PlayBook competitive in pricing. The 16GB WiFi only model will be sold for $499 USD, roughly P22,000. That’s the same cost as the 16GB Apple iPad WiFi.

SPECS
– 7? capacitive display @ 1024×600 pixel
– BlackBerry Tablet OS
– Cortex A9 1GHz dual-core CPU
– 1GB RAM
– Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing)
– 1080p Full HD video recording
– HDMI port
– WiFi 802.11n
– Bluetooth 2.1

Gray market models should be available locally (a.k.a. Greenhills) late April. Expect jacked up prices though. :/
