Will BlackBerry’s new low-cost handset still strike a chord with Pinoys?
If you recall, we were wondering if BlackBerry had decided to skip the PH in relation to their worldwide rollout of their newest low-cost handset, the Z3. It seems that we are still in the minds of the Waterloo-based company, as evidenced by their invite to a launch event on the 22nd to show off the affordable Z3.

The question now is, how much? Ever since the company’s decline a few years ago, low-cost Android smartphones have been quickly been the gadget of choice for Filipinos. The Z3 needs to be priced competitively (and we do mean competitively) for them to have any chance of recapturing their former glory in the pearl of the orient. The closer the company can get to the $199 price that the Z3 launched with in Indonesia, the better – any more and it may get swallowed whole by its more affordable Android competitors.
