Casio’s Latest G-Shock is Dedicated to Filipinos

With a design inspired by the art of weaving

Casio’s presence in the Philippines is strongly felt especially for its G-Shock line. With its toughness likened to Filipinos, Casio held a Design the National G-Shock contest last January, where participants are tasked to design the most Pinoy G-Shock’s bracelet. Out of 1,200 entries, Dylan Dylanco’s “Habi” emerged as the winner.

Dylanco’s design is inspired by the weaving techniques of our ancestors. The design made use of ethnic patterns, which best symbolize the bravery of Filipinos. What makes the design significant is that it seamlessly incorporates a traditional design with modern gadgets like Casio’s G-Shock.

“The most prolific warriors in history have always been celebrated in symbolism, song, and vestment. And in traditional tapestry weaves, every weave tells a story,” Obu said.

The National G-Shock will be limited to 200 pieces and will be available at select G-Shock stores nationwide starting today. The National G-Shock is priced at Php 9,995.
