Is your phone on the list?
Cherry Mobile has released a list of phones that will be receiving Android Lollipop updates in their Facebook page. The phones, primarily composed of Flare devices, will get either OTA or SD Card updates, with some scheduled to receive the updates next year.
Here’s the list of phones:
- Flare S3 – OTA Available
- Flare S3 Lite – OTA Available
- Flare S3 Mini – Confirmed 2016
- Flare S3 Octa – Confirmed 2016
- Flare S3 Power – Confirmed 2016
- Touch XL – OTA Available
- Flare X – SD card update Available/ OTA Confirmed 2016
The Flare X is said to receive an SD card update but how people will be able to go about that is still unknown. We gather you’d have to take your Flare X device to an official Cherry Mobile store or dealer to get the update manually, buy that’s just our guess – we’re still trying to confirm the process with Cherry Mobile. Cherry Mobile has confirmed that you will have to take the phone to an authorized service center to be able to get the Lollipop update manually, though they assure us that the OTA update is “very close to being released”.
