More Intel goodness

Cherry Mobile has officially sent out invites for an event next week. While the company has not revealed exactly what they’re launching, chances is high that we may finally see a locally-branded smartphone in the market that has Intel’s chips inside.

Previously only international smartphones have carried Intel’s chips, most notably ASUS’ Zenfone line of devices starting from the 4, 5 and 6, all the way to the Zenfone 2. We’ve repeatedly said that Intel would make a killing if it managed to offer smartphones powered with their chips and edge out traditional providers like Qualcomm and MediaTek, though again, there’s no guarantee that this will be the case until we actually see the phones in action next week.

So join us next week on the 29th during the event. We’ll be on the ground delivering the announcement as it happens, so follow us on our Facebook account (www.facebook.com/unboxph) so you don’t get left out.

  1. I’m going to ROFL so hard if the ODM is Asus. But all will be forgiven if it’s dual boot and Flash Plus price point.
