Cherry Mobile steps up their game in the Android Tablet segment

Cherry Mobile just announced a new tablet on their Facebook Page earlier today, the Cherry Mobile Superion Duo Plus. The device packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 3G enabled (call, SMS, 3G), and sports a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. It also has rear and front facing cameras for basic video conferencing. There’s nothing really overly fantastic about the specifications but the price tag is pretty compelling. The Cherry Mobile Superion Plus Duo sells for just Php6,999. Amazeballs.

Unfortunately Cherry Mobile didn’t spell out all the other details like the screen resolution/quality and RAM. Hopefully we’ll get that info once we secure a unit for review.

Cherry Mobile Rave: Android Gingerbread Smartphone for Php3,299

Other than the Superion Plus Duo, Cherry Mobile also announced the Rave, an Android Gingerbread smartphone for Php3,299. The specs are usual fare for entry level Gingerbread devices so I won’t delve into it too much. We would recommend though that you just skip this, add Php700 and go get yourself a Cherry Mobile Flare instead.

Cheers to more affordable smart devices for Pinoys! Woot.

  1. saw one displayed in showcase of Cherry Mobile’s kiosk, when I am pointing at it, the saleman immediate voiced out “upon purchase only”, WTF, you think its an Apple or Samsung? how can you sell a phone or pad that has no exact spec without demo,
I told him to keep it lock in the showcase na lang, don’t even bother, they should have even keep it in box & seal it if they think they can sell it like that, even Apple has lots of demo units on display, so Cherry Mobile really think they are more in demand or superior than Apple or Samsung?

or are they afraid to show it?
