Aside from releasing the Alpha Prime 5, Cherry Mobile had another surprise up its sleeve in CeBit – the successor device to the Cherry Explorer Action Cam, dubbed the Explorer 2. Aside from the usual upgrade in optics and image sensor (both made by Sony) Cherry Mobile’s latest action cam has something that even other, higher end devices don’t have.
Cherry Mobile says that their Action Cam 2 is the world’s first action camera that’s been integrated with Android. Yup – the Action Cam 2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage as well as Android Lollipop 5.1.
The Pinoy brand is skewing their new device as the action camera equivalent of Samsung’s Galaxy Camera, integrating Android functionality that adds a new dimension to taking videos.
Additional information like the resolution of the videos taken as well as other features of the new device was not revealed by the Pinoy brand.
