There’s a lot of very happy Nexus owners today as Google officially released the newest version of Android, dubbed Nougat to Nexus phones. But it’s not just Nexus owners that are getting Android 7.0 love today – owners of General Mobile’s Android One device should also be getting the newest version of Android via OTA.
That’s not all – since the phone offered in Turkey by General Mobile is essentially the same device as Cherry Mobile’s One G1, it stands to reason that the One G1 will also be getting Android Nougat, right? Yup – that was confirmed to us back in May by none other by Lonson Alejandrino, Product Manager for Cherry Mobile. The original Android One device from Cherry Mobile should also get Android Nougat as well, at least according to Mr. Alejandrino. Granted, it might take longer for the One and the One G1 to get their Nougat update if we base our experience from last year’s roll out of Marshmallow, but at least these phones will be getting Nougat lovin’ – you’ll just have to wait for it.
