Armed with a 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, this device looks to be another affordable option for those who want to break into the newfangled display trend. What’s in the Box?

All the boxes for the Next Infinity series look practically the same with the device’s main feature on display with the infinity symbol to help drive the point home that these devices do have the company’s so-called, Infinite Vision Displays. You’ve also got all the major specs on the back of the box, so you know what hardware each of the devices rocks. Open up the box and you’ll be greeted by the Cloudfone Next Infinity that’s isolated in its little cardboard holster. Along with the device, you’ll be getting the following accessories:

  • Removable 2900mAh battery
  • USB Wall Charge
  • Micro USB cable
  • In-ear headphones
  • Screen protector
  • Silicon case
  • Quick Start guide
  • Warranty Card

An Old School Touch

Let’s get this part of the way. Yes, the Cloudfone Next Infinity comes with a removable battery, which is getting pretty rare to see nowadays. You, of course, have to gently pry off the plastic shell of the device in order to slap in the 2900mAh as well as access the SIM card slots and micro SD expansion slot. I honestly wasn’t expecting to see a removable battery with the Cloudfone Next Infinity, but I suppose there are still some who prefer bringing around a spare battery instead of having a power bank with them.

Despite having a plastic frame, the device feels rather sturdy, though we highly recommend using the case it comes with just to keep it from getting scuffed up. There’s just the right amount of heft with the device as well and just enough curves to make it feel good in the hand.

Let’s get to the tour of the devices ports and button layout.

On the right side, you have the power button and the volume rocker.

On the bottom of the device, you have the micro USB port and the microphone.

Up on top, is the 3.5mm headphone jack.

On the back of the device is the 13-megapixel rear camera that’s equipped with Phase Detection Autofocus and Superpixel tech with its LED flash right below it. Since one of the main features of the device is an 18:9 display, you also have the fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device as well plus the speaker grille on the very bottom too.

Moving up front, you have that 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display that’s covered in 2.5D curved glass to help blend into the device frame. Since you have a slightly smaller display than the Quattro, you’re getting a little more pixel density here and, given the price point, we weren’t expecting anything more than HD+ resolution anyway.

Above the display is the 16-megapixel front camera, which still has Portrait Mode for that software-assisted bokeh effect.

Under the hood of the Cloudfone Next Infinity is a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor that has been paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. You still have Cloudfone’s UI over Android 7.1.2 Nougat and again, as mentioned earlier, you have a removable 2900 mAh battery to juice up the entire system.

We’ll be taking the Cloudfone Next Infinity out for a spin in the next few days, so if this unboxing and quick review has piqued your interest in the local brand’s affordable 18:9 offering check back for its full review. The Cloudfone Next Infinity has been priced at Php 6,999.
