Cloudfone’s looking to launch their music phone as early as next month
Eric Yu, CEO of Cloudfone has revealed that his company is working closely with both Spotify and Globe to launch a music-centric device that’s set to debut next month.
The head honcho of the local brand revealed his plans during the sideline of the company’s official launch of their dual-boot tablets earlier today.
“We’re actually launching something with Spotify, and it’s going to be a Spotify and Cloudfone collaborated device,” Yu said.
“Spotify will be on the phone, the user experience will be a Spotify user experience. This will be another first for us, working with Spotify and Globe on a partnership level,” he adds.
When asked when the device would launch, Yu said to expect it in about a month.
Spotify has forged strategic partnerships with other mobile phone brands in the past, but this is the first time the music streaming service will be partnering with a local device brand.
Yu did not mention specs or pricing of the upcoming device, though it’s possible that it will launch through Globe’s post-paid plans considering their close relationship to the telco.
