Cloudfone’s NBA Edition Device May Make it Before the Playoffs

A Phone Tailored for Hoop Fans!

Cloudfone forged a partnership with Disney early last year, spawning several special edition themed devices that include a ton of freebies. Last month, Cloudfone introduced yet another special edition device with one of their partners, the NBA, seeking to capture the hearts of basketball fans in the country. Here’s a quick look at its spec sheet.

Cloudfone NBA Edition Specifications

  • 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 2.5D curved glass, 1280×720 resolution
  • 16GB of storage (Expandable up to 128GB)
  • 13-megapixel rear camera, LED flash
  • 5-megapixel front camera, LED  flash
  • 3G, LTE
  • Dual SIM
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • 4000mAh battery
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Aesthetically speaking, the device looks a lot like the Cloudfone Next or the Cloudfone Next Lite — with its curved edges, rounded corners that flow to the 2.5D curved glass protecting the display. As far as internals go the Next and Next Lite have the edge, however, the Cloudfone NBA Edition smartphone has been given a bit more screen real estate at 5.5-inches; a move perhaps to help hoop fans appreciate watching the game via the pre-installed NBA League Pass app on the device. Aside from that, the phone will come bundled with NBA themes and wallpapers too.

With the NBA Playoffs fast approaching, Cloudfone has posted that the NBA Special Edition phone will soon be available via their Facebook page, but hasn’t disclosed how much the device would cost. Knowing the company though, we can probably expect the device to be bundle with a couple of freebies as well.
