Computex 2017: The ASUS Zenbook Pro Rocks a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti

Need something with a bit more oomph?

If you need something a little more power, but don’t want to lug around a notebook from ASUS’ Republic of Gamers series of gaming notebooks then this laptop introduced during their event in Taipei, Taiwan could be up your alley. Meet the New ASUS Zenbook Pro.

Like the other notebooks bearing the Zenbook name, it was built to be a looker plus it’s the thinnest and lightest Zenbook Pro the company has released thus far; measuring in at 18.9mm and weighing in at 1.8kg. It’s not all about the form with this notebook, as it has quite a bit of hardware for those who like work hard and play a little hard as well. Here’s a quick peek at its spec sheet.

ASUS Zenbook Pro Specifications

  • Up to latest Intel Core i7 H-processor
  • Up to 16GB of RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti
  • 15.6-inch 4K UHD NanoEdge display; 83% screen-to-body ratio, 100% sRGB
  • Up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage
  • Harman Kardon certified quad speakers with Smart Amp
  • One-touch login with WIndows Hellow Support
  • Support for Fast Charging

ASUS seems to be concentrating on lessening the bezels on their laptops, and that hasn’t changed with the Zenbook Pro. It’s 15.6-inch display rocks up to 4K resolution and, just like the other laptops that we’re introduced, has thin bezels to give you a better screen-to-body ratio.

We talked about the laptop having a little bit more oomph and, while the other laptops that have been on stage thus far also had the latest core i7 processor and up to 16GB of RAM, this is the first of the bunch to have a NVIDIA 10-series GPU; a GTX 1050 Ti to be exact. This means, that while you can take this around with you for business meetings around the metro, you can do a fair amount of gaming or video editing on this good looking notebook too.

Since it also Thunderbolt 3.0 ports, we’re guessing you can plug this in to a ROG GX Station 2 if you feel like you need a GTX 1080 for gaming.

The price for the ASUS Zenbook Pro starts at $1299 or Php 64679, which is a bit much considering the price of the Vivobook S. It is a big jump in hardware though.
