Computex2017: Asus ROG Releases New Batch of Gaming Monitors

Kick Ass Monitors from the Republic of Gamers

While we’ve already seen a slew of ASUS products at Computex 2017, such as: the VivoBook S, ZenBook 3 Deluxe, and the powerfully sleek — ASUS ROG Zephyrus,  we were unable to make all the rounds for all the products they released. The notebooks were definitely the highlight of ASUS’ product releases, but there were notable peripherals for those of us who might want to keep their personal computing at home.

The Taiwanese brand introduced five (5) new monitors to their product line; all of which coming from their gaming sub-brand — the Republic of Gamers — and feature at least 144Hz refresh rate for a smoother gaming experience.

First up are the monitors from the all-new ROG Strix monitor lineup. ASUS mentions that these monitors were designed for intermediate gamers and they come in a variety of screen sizes. These new ROG Strix XG series monitors also feature an ASUS-exclusive Low Motion Blur, as well as FreeSync, to give you amazing visuals while gaming. Here are the three monitors in the Strix XG series:

ASUS ROG Strix XG258Q

a 24.5-inch Full HD monitor with a native refresh rate of 240Hz. Yup, you read that right — 240Hz.

ASUS ROG Strix XG27VQ

These are the monitors you see in the photos above. It’s a 27-inch curved panel for more immersive gaming. In case you’re into multiple display setups, the XG27VQ also has thin bezels so that break in between displays is a little less distracting; it looks pretty sweet on its own though. It has a refresh rate of 144Hz and has ASUS’ Aura RGB lighting to add a little ambient lighting to the mix.

ASUS ROG Strix XG32VQ

Last, and the largest among the three new Strix monitors. It’s a 32-inch curved monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz. It has an aspect ratio of 12:9 with 2K WQHD resolution for that ultra-wide goodness. The XG32VQ also has Asus Aura RGB lighting, so you can coordinate lighting themes with the rest of your ASUS swag equipped with this feature.

We’ve already seen a few of ASUS’ ROG Swift Monitors come across our desks at Unbox HQ and we think that they’re awesome displays, if you can take the hit to your bank account. At Computex 2017, the Taiwanese company introduced two more entries into the ROG Swift monitor line up and they look just as or even more incredible than the ones we’ve seen in the past.

ASUS ROG Swift PG35VQ

This is a 35-inch curved monitor with UWQHD resolution; that’s 3440 x 1440 at a 21:9 aspect ratio. It comes equipped with HDR and Quantum-dot technology that we’ve recently seen in the new TVs from Samsung. It has a refresh rate of 200Hz and has G-Sync to eliminate screen tearing. You’ve also got Asus Aura RGB lighting as well.

ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ

This award winning monitor (Computex 2017 Best Choice Golden Award) measures in at, you guessed it, 27-inches and is the very first HDR gaming monitor to run at 4K UHD resolution. Like its larger sibling above, it also features Quantum-Dot technology, G-Sync, and ASUS Aura RGB lighting. It’s refresh rate is a little lower at 144Hz, but I’m guessing no one’s going to complain after getting their eyes melted off by this panel.

That pretty much wraps up all the amazing monitors Asus introduced during Computex 2017. As of now, we have no word as to their local availability and pricing, but we’ll let you guys know as soon as we do too.
