As confirmed by ASUS CEO Jerry Shen
While ASUS has just launched the ZenFone 4 Family last month, it turns out that the Taiwanese company is now working on the ZenFone 5 family, and ASUS CEO Jerry Shen confirmed that they plan to launch the next-generation ZenFones in March 2018.
People may be wondering why ASUS will be launching the ZenFone 5 family 6 months after the ZenFone 4 family was launched, but Shen explains that they expect” to swing back to profitability in the fourth quarter of 2017″. Shen added that he expects to see ASUS as one of the seven most profitable smartphone vendors by the third quarter of 2018.
But how about the recent partnership of HTC with Google? It’s not a problem for ASUS, as Shen emphasized that they will be focusing more on the entry-level and mid-range market. Does that mean we will be seeing more affordable ZenFones in the future? This we definitely look forward to.
