Expect More Devices Using OPPO’s VOOC Tech in the Near Future

OPPO wants to make VOOC accessible by other industries

OPPO has spent years and millions in research in improving its proprietary VOOC flash charging tech. Its current iteration—SuperVOOC—is its best charging tech to date, as it can fully juice up a phone from 0 to 100 in just 35 minutes. We tried this on the R17 Pro, and we were impressed at how it can get the phone up and ready while you are getting yourself ready in the morning.

With SuperVOOC, OPPO opted for a serial bi-cell battery and 50W charging that enables it to juice up as fast as possible without worrying about heat and possible damage to the battery. Both VOOC and SuperVOOC have been certified Germany’s TÜV Rheinland—an organization known for its high standards for battery safety.

With over 100 million OPPO devices using VOOC charging, OPPO announced during its SuperVOOC Flash Charge Open Day in Shanghai that they are officially licensing it. This means that non-OPPO brands can take advantage of VOOC in the near future. “We are dedicated to extending the advantages of VOOC Flash Charge to the whole industry, OPPO Global Vice President Yiren Shen said.

Thanks to this development, OPPO intends to license VOOC Flash Charge to industry partners on a fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory basis and hopes that its partners can develop more innovative products and better serve consumers.
