Galaxy A6 and A6+ Renders Spotted; Features a Familiar Look

Plot twist: It might be called a different model

Following the launch of the premium mid-range Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018), Samsung is preparing a new set of mid-range models. This two new models will allegedly be called the Galaxy A6 and A6+. Little is known about the device so far, and OnLeaks has revealed the renders of both models in a video.

From the two videos, the Galaxy A6 and A6+ have the same screen size and design with the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018). This means that the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will have an Infinity display, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and rear camera placement. The Galaxy A6+ will have a slight deviation, as it will sport a dual rear camera setup similar to the Galaxy S9+.

As for the rumored specs, the Galaxy A6 will sport an Exynos 7870 processor, along with 3GB RAM and a 5.6-inch display. The Galaxy A6+, on the other hand, will sport a Snapdragon 626 processor paired with 4GB RAM, and a 6-inch display. With both being budget models, they are expected to use a MicroUSB port instead of a USB-C port.

Now here’s the confusing part: According to OnLeaks, the Galaxy A6 and A6+ might be known as the Galaxy J8 and J8+ respectively in select markets. This might make sense as there were two Galaxy J8 variants spotted a few months ago: One sporting an Exynos processor, and another using a Snapdragon processor. Judging the specs, they are similar to the rumored specs of the Galaxy A6 and A6+. While this is a speculation, there’s a possibility that Samsung will go this route.
