Google Officially Announces Android 11 Beta

Featuring new controls for music and connected devices

Google officially kicks of its Android 11 program with the announcement of Android 11 Beta 1. The first official Beta version of Android 11 introduces updated features like media controls at the quick settings panel and native support for all connected devices—the latter activated through the phone’s power button.

Communication is also a key improvement with Android 11, as it comes with native support for Google Meet and family mode for Google Duo. Speaking of chat apps, users can now reply to conversations instantly at the notification section. With support for various apps, Android keeps your notifications organized by giving you the option to mark important conversations as a priority notification so you don’t miss out on them.

Android 11 is also introducing Bubbles, which lets you respond to conversations without switching away from what you are currently doing with your device.

Privacy controls have been improved further with Android 11. This time, apps that have not been used for a long time will have their permissions “auto-reset”.

Android 11 Beta is available for Pixel 2/2 XL, Pixel 3/3 XL, Pixel 3a/ 3a XL, and Pixel 4/ 4XL. It will be available soon on the Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10, OPPO Find X2 Pro, and Realme X50 Pro next month.
