First Impressions: Stylish Android smartphones, though there are some hardware niggles

The Oracle is a pretty nice looking smartphone, and bears an aluminum body, with plastic strips on the top and bottom that kind of reminds us of Starmobile’s own Diamond X1. It’s rather thin, at just around 6.6mm, which makes it one of the thinnest around. It definitely has a bit of heft to it, though it’s not overly heavy.

The physical keys are all located on the left side of the smartphone, with the dual-SIM tray located on the right. You’ll need to pop it out using a small pin (ala iPhone) if you want to put in your SIM cards.

If you haven’t noticed already, the biggest issue that we can see right now is that the phone doesn’t have expandable memory. That 8GB of storage isn’t nearly enough for people who like to install a lot of stuff in their smartphone, which is a big downside. As consolation, Happy Mobile is planning to include a USB OTG thumb drive with every purchase of the Oracle.

We were not able to run AnTuTu and Geekbench on the Oracle due to time and internet constraints, though initial navigation of the smartphone revealed a device that’s rather quick, though only a full review would show just how good the Oracle is when it comes to gaming on the rather limited storage space. Also, a quick note on the specs – the 1.5GHz clock was provided to us by Happy Mobile. We’re still trying to confirm if this is indeed a custom clock or a typo in the specs – we’ll update you guys once we find out for sure.
