Familiar brands lead the top spot per category

As we head towards the 4th quarter of 2017, it is interesting to know which are the top-selling smartphones per category. According to a post by MemoExpress, we have familiar brands like Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, and Nokia dominating different categories.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 leads the >Php30,000 category in spite of its near-50k SRP. The LG G6 and OPPO F3 Plus lead in the Php 25,000-29,999 and Php 20,000-Php24,999 categories respectively in spite of being introduced early this year. This shows that both the G6 and F3 Plus have good hardware that can match most smartphones in its price range.

Vivo’s Y69 and OPPO’s A71–both introduced last September, lead in the Php 10,000-Php 14,999 and Php 7,000-Php 9,999 categories respectively, a proof that both brands are well loved by Filipinos.

As for budget phones, Nokia remains king in the Php 1,001-1,999 and <Php 1,000 categories with the 3310 3G and 105.

Do note that this list covers the week of October 09 to October 15. With the launch of the Huawei Nova 2i this weekend, it will be interesting to see if the much-hyped smartphone will make it to MemoExpress’ top list in their upcoming sales report.
