Here’s Huawei’s Timeline for the EMUI 9.1 Rollout

It comes with several updates over EMUI 9

While most Huawei users can have peace of mind after the company confirmed that their phones will be receiving Android Q after all, the Chinese tech giant will be rolling out EMUI 9.1 first to select phones before the said major Android update.

The rollout begins this month with the P20 Lite and Mate 20 series. This will continue on July with the Nova 3 series, P20 series, Mate 9 and Mate 10 series, Y9 2019, Y5 2019, and Y6 Pro 2019. Come August, the P10 series will be receiving the update.

EMUI 9.1 is more than an incremental update to EMUI 9. First seen in the P30 series, EMUI 9.1 introduces a new Extendable Read-Only File System (EROFS) for faster read speeds and app launches. GPU Turbo 3.0 supports 25 titles, and Phone Clone is improved for seamless data transfer from one phone to another. New features such as Huawei Vlog and Huawei Share OneHop is also part of EMUI 9.1. The former lets you create vlogs on the fly, while the latter gives you seamless, wireless file transfer when using a MateBook.
