Honor Unveils V20 with 48-Megapixel Sony IMX586 Camera, Hole Punch Display

Swaps the triple camera setup for a ToF camera + 48-megapixel main camera

After releasing several teasers, Honor unveiled in China the Honor V20. Known globally as the Honor View 20, the V20 boasts of a hole-punch display that has a 4.5mm hole housing the 25-megapixel front camera. Design-wise, the V20’s rear panel closely resembles that of the Honor 10, though the V20 has a V-shaped texture on its glass back that shines when viewed at a certain angle.

The other highlight of the V20 is the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 rear camera. Using a 1/2-type sensor, the new sensor boasts of Light Fusion tech, where it combines pixels for better low-light images at 12-megapixels. Accompanying the camera is a Time of Flight (ToF) camera that lets you play games using 3D gesture recognition.

The V20 boasts of flagship internals that includes a Kirin 980 processor, 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, 4000mAh battery with 22.5W SuperCharge, USB-C, dual-frequency GPS, and triple WiFi Antennas. The V20 comes with Link Turbo—a feature that uses both WiFi and 4G for improved data speeds.

CNY 2999(~Php 23.1k) for the 6GB/128GB variant, and CNY 3499(~Php 26.9k) for the 8GB/128GB variant. There’s also a MOSCHINO edition variant that retails for CNY 3999(~Php 30.8k) for the 8GB/256GB variant. Shipping in China begins on December 28, while global availability (as the Honor View 20) will be on January 22.
