HTC One SV: Affordable LTE Smartphone at Php17,480
We were at SM Megamall Cyberzone yesterday and we saw that the new HTC One SV was already available at the HTC Concept Store. We spent a few minutes checking out the device and playing around with it. At first it seemed like your run-of-the-mill mid-range smartphone. However when we checked out the specs we saw that this device was actually LTE-ready. The Php17,480 price tag makes it the most affordable LTE smartphone to date! Other than that though all the other specs are mostly average.
Here’s a quick rundown of the specifications:
HTC One SV Spec Sheet
- 1.2GHz Dual-core CPU, Snapdragon MSM8960 Chipset
- Adreno 305 GPU
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD
- 4.3-inch WVGA display, 217 pixels per inch
- 5.0-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
- 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera
- WiFi b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with aGPS
- 3G, HSPA+, LTE
- Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
- 1,800mAh Battery
The only major cause for concern in the spec list is the 1,800mAh battery. LTE will eat that up pretty fast. If ever we get our hands on a unit we’ll do a more comprehensive battery test.
PS: We’re a bit turned off that the HTC salespeople in their concept store kept saying that the Php17,480 is a special price for the 3-day Mega Sale. If that’s truly the case then why did Yuga post in his site that the cash price was Php17,480 when he saw the unit way back in April? We just think it’s in bad taste for HTC to do that.
