It’s one of the “unannounced” models at the Taiwan 5G Industry Alliance inaugural conference
While HTC has no plans of introducing a new flagship model for MWC 2018, reports say that the Taiwanese company discreetly introduced the U12 during the Taiwan 5G Industry Alliance inaugural conference.
According to leaksterĀ Evan Blass, one of the phones that were showcased is the HTC U12:
Apparently this lightly obfuscated handset on display at a 5G industry event is none other than HTC Imagine, aka “U12,” aka the company’s next flagship. https://t.co/f89KjGjEyX

While we cannot confirm if the prototype phones are indeed the U12, there are a few things to consider: First, the prototype phones use a 6-inch 18:9 display, and second, the download speeds of around 800MBps corroborates with the capabilities of Qualcomm’s X20 modem. To recall, the X20 modem will be used by the Snapdragon 845.
As for its launch, HTC is expected to launch the U12 sometime this year.
