Huawei All But Confirms Nova 2i Launch In PH

It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out

Huawei Philippines has started teasing a new phone in their Facebook page lately, and if it was unclear before that it was the Nova 2i, it’s definitely clear now. Their PR arm has just sent us a teaser image that confirms that the next phone that they’re launching has an 18:9 display.

If the image wasn’t enough, their PR agency also added the following sentence (emphasis theirs): With the latest inNOVAtion from Huawei coming your way soon, you need not worry about this any longer. Sporting a much bigger and better screen display size, you can fit in and use 30+ apps in a max of 2 swipes!

Huawei Nova 2i specs

  • Kirin 659 octa-core processor
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 5.9-inch Full HD display, 18:9 display aspect ratio
  • 64GB of storage, expandable via microSD
  • 16-Megapixel and 2-Megapixel rear cameras with AF, OIS, PDAF, 4K recording
  • 13-Megapixel and 2-Megapixel Pfront cameras
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C
  • 3,340mAh battery
  • Android Nougat (7.0)

So, it’s pretty clear that Huawei is launching the Nova 2i here in the Philippines. The only question now is when, and how much – since the phone is supposed to be a mid-range device, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was launched with an aggressive price tag to fight the offerings of their Chinese rivals.
