Huawei brings 5G One Step Closer to the Philippines with the 5G CPE Pro

One step closer to realizing 5G in the Philippines

As the leader in 5G, Huawei has already signed more than fifty commercial contracts with network operators along with over 150,000 base stations installed across the globe. Huawei is currently working on bringing 5G to the Philippines.

Part of its efforts includes bringing in its 5G equipment to our shores starting with the 5G CPE Pro. Unveiled during MWC 2019, the 5G CPE Pro makes use of Huawei’s Balong 5000 multimode chip that enables it to work with 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks without the need for a separate chip.

The standalone modem supports both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks and is capable of up to 3.2Gbps speeds along with one-click connect to networks with HiLink.

During its presentation last August 15, Huawei officials explained the various applications of 5G. Aside from providing fast internet speeds (the demo delivered up to 500mbps on Speedtest), other applications include seamless smart home integration using Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa and low latency PC gaming.

Expect Huawei to ramp up its 5G efforts in the Philippines in the coming months. Don’t forget to check out our 5G-related articles below:
