While the battle between flagship devices rages on, smartphone companies are also fighting in a different arena — one that tries to capture the budget conscious market. With that in mind, Huawei tosses their hat into this year’s offerings by debuting the Honor 5C.

As for the Honor 5C’s specs, here’s what we know so far:

  • HiSilicon Kirin 650 Octa-core Processor
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 5.2 IPS LCD Display 1080p Resolution
  • ARM Mali-T830 GPU
  • 16 GB of Internal Storage; Expandable via Micro SD
  • 13 Megapixel Rear Camera f/2.0
  • 8 Megapixel Front Camera f/2.0
  • Fingerprint Scanner
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G/4G LTE
  • Bluetooth v4.1
  • WiFi B/G/N
  • GPS, AGPS, GLONASS
  • 3000 mAH Battery
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI v4.1

Coming in at 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm, 156 grams, and wrapped in a metal build, the Honor 5C certainly sounds like it can put up a fight. The device debuted in China with a price of CNY 899 (or roughly P 6,500) for the 3G model, and CNY 999 (or P7,225) for the 4G model. As always, we’ll try to get our hands on the 5C for a full review if and when it becomes available in the Philippines market.
