It is as good as the P20 Pro

While the Mate 20 Pro has almost the same triple rear camera setup with the P20 Pro (save for swapping the monochrome camera for a wide-angle camera), many are curious if the Mate 20 Pro will match the P20 Pro’s DxOMark score or exceed it.

Roughly three months after it was launched, DxOMark gave their verdict on the Mate 20 Pro, and it matches the P20 Pro’s overall score, making Huawei the best-performing brand in DxOMark.

While the Mate 20 Pro has the same Photo and Overall score with the P20 Pro, the P20 Pro scored higher in the Video category by one point. DxOMark explains that the difference in the Video score is because of noise in low light and slight issues with its image stabilization.

The Mate 20 Pro may have the same Photo score with the P20 Pro, but DxOMark notes that the former improves a bit in exposure especially in backlit subjects and high contrast environments.
