Huawei Launching Mate 8 On November 26, Will Have New Kirin 950 SoC

Huawei’s new phablet is coming

Last year we were mightily impressed with Huawei’s Mate 7 phablet, and we were wondering when the follow-up to that phablet would arrive. Well, it seems that Huawei has already set the date for the launch of the Mate 8. Invitations sent out to Chinese media indicate that the company will launch the phone on November 26.

Along with that invite, new rumors say that the upcoming phone will be powered by the Kirin 950 SoC. The 950 is rumored to have dethroned the Exynos 7420 on Geekbench, posting a massive multi-core score of 6096 and a single-core score of 1909. The Mate 8 is also rumored to sport a 6-inch display just like the Mate 7, but should now have a 1440 x 2560 QHD panel, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of memory and a 21-megapixel rear camera.
