Huawei Mate 10 to come with Android Oreo Out of the Box

To be introduced together with EMUI 6.0

While we wait for smartphone brands to upgrade their handsets with Android Oreo, it is confirmed that the Mate 10, Huawei’s upcoming flagship, will ship with Android Oreo (8.0), just like the upcoming Google Pixel 2 phones, which will be launched on October 2. In fact, some users are already testing Huawei’s EMUI 6.0 with Android 8.0 in closed beta programs.

Last year, Huawei launched the Mate 9 with Android Nougat (7.0) and EMUI 5.0, so it will not be surprising if the Mate 10 will get first dibs on Android Oreo.

As Huawei will be launching the Mate 10 on October 16, there will be two variants: Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Both will have a Kirin 970 processor and Leica-branded dual rear cameras featuring a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor. Differentiating the two is the screen size: The Mate 10 will have a 5.7-inch display, and the Mate 10 Pro will have a 6.1-inch display.
