Check out the upcoming Android Oreo update for the Mate 9!
Huawei’s expected to launch the Mate 10 in a few days, but that doesn’t mean they’re forgetting about last year’s flagship. Not at all, in fact the Mate 9 is expected to get Android Oreo along with EMUI 6, and according to the folks at XDA Developers, it’s an update that brings plenty to the table.
Along with everything that Android Oreo has to offer, the Mate 9 will also be getting a few extras courtesy of EMUI 6. For one thing, you’ll be able to switch resolutions from full HD to HD, possibly in a bid to extend the phone’s already excellent battery life even further. A software button at the bottom of the navigation bar will also make said bar to disappear so you have more screen real-estate if you need it. There’s also picture-in-picture mode, useful thanks to the Mate 9’s large display, as well as a navigation dock if you don’t want to use the navigation bar at all.
