All Huawei phones will remain updated for almost the rest of 2019
Despite US President Donald Trump’s recent statement that they’re “not going to do business with Huawei,” Reuters reports that the US Commerce Department is expected to extend Huawei’s temporary reprieve by another 90 days.
Huawei’s current temporary reprieve will end on August 19, so the extended reprieve means that Huawei can buy supplies from US companies to serve its customers. In addition, this also means current Huawei phones—including the P30 Pro and several of Huawei’s mid-range phones—will continue receiving updates.
Trump and China President Xi Jinping are expected to discuss the Huawei trade situation in a call this week, so things remain to be fluid for now.
