At the price points that these phones play in, it’s natural that all three phones primarily use plastic in their construction. The good news is that the build quality of all phones feels pretty solid, with none of them having major creaks or flexing anywhere in their body.

The OPPO A5s and Samsung Galaxy A10s have typical plastic glossy finishes that are common in most budget phones today.

Huawei’s Y6s, on the other hand, uses a dual-texture finish that makes the phone stand out compared to its peers. All three have fingerprint scanners on the rear, but we found the Y6s to be the most accurate of the three.

Both the OPPO A5s and Samsung Galaxy A10s have identical screen sizes, coming in at 6.2-inches big. The Huawei Y6s has a slightly smaller display, clocking in at 6.09-inches. All three phones use IPS displays.

While both the A5s and the A10s have bigger displays than the Y6s, Huawei’s offering has a slight lead in overall pixel density. The A5s and the A10s both have 720 x 1520 resolution panel, while the Y6s has a 720 x 1560 panel. That slightly higher resolution coupled with a smaller physical display means that the Y6s have a sharper display coming in at 282ppi, VS its rivals which only come out to 271ppi.

Overall sound quality definitely goes to the Y6s whose output is improved dramatically thanks to Huawei’s SuperSound tech.

Camera

All three phones use a 13-megapixel main camera, though both the OPPO A5s and Samsung Galaxy A10s have secondary 2-megapixel depth sensors thrown in at the rear.

Diving a little bit deeper into the cameras, you’ll find that the A10s and the Y6s have f/1.8 aperture lenses, while the A5s has an f/2.2 aperture.

Selfie cameras are identical in both megapixel counts and aperture opening, with all three phones using 8-megapixel sensors paired with f/2.0 lenses.

Despite having the same image sensors, image quality varies between the three phones. In our shots, Huawei’s Y6s produced the best photos of the three, producing good detail overall. We did notice a few overexposed shots and some issues with dynamic range, but overall the Y6s performed the best out of the three.

Performance

All three phones use MediaTek’s budget processors. The Huawei Y6s and OPPO A5s have MediaTek’s P35 processor, while the Samsung Galaxy A10s use MediaTek’s P22 chipset. You can check out the benchmarks below:

The A5s and Y6s have 3GB of RAM, while the A10s only has 2GB. As for storage, the Y6s has the most storage of the three, clocking in at 64GB, while the A5s and the A10s only have 32GB of storage.

Battery

OPPO’s A5s has the most battery out of the three, with the phone having a 4230mAh battery pack. Samsung’s Galaxy A10s comes in second with 4000mAh, with Huawei’s Y6s coming in third, with 3020mAh. Here are the battery benchmarks for the three:

Price and verdict

Pricing for all three budget phones is incredibly close – the Huawei Y6s and OPPO A5s have the same price tags at Php 6999, and while Samsung’s Galaxy A10s is technically the cheapest at Php 6,990, the price difference between the three is negligible.

While Huawei’s Y6s is behind on overall battery life, it’s ahead in so many other aspects, including the amount of RAM, storage, overall image quality (despite having only a single camera) as well as other features.
