With every flagship announcement, Chinese brand Huawei usually follows it up with a more affordable offering that most of us can afford. For their new Mate 9 flagship, the company has released the Mate 9 Lite, a comparatively tamer phone bearing the flagship name that will probably be seen in PH shores sooner rather than later.

The Mate 9 Lite is a 5.5-inch, full HD equipped phone which flaunts a dual rear camera setup, much like its bigger brother. The phone has a Kirin 655 octa-core processor, and comes in both 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage flavors.
And while the Mate 9 Lite has two rear cameras like its more expensive siblings, the sensors have been downgraded to just 12-megapixels and 2-megapixels. The Leica branding that’s apparent on the Mate 9 and the P9 is also missing.
Other specs include a fingerprint scanner on the bottom, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 running on top and a 3,340mAh battery. The brand has not announced pricing for the Mate 9 Lite, but expect it to retail far less than the Mate 9 when it officially hits our shores.
