Huawei’s Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro Start Getting Android Oreo, EMUI 8

Last year’s flagship just got better

While Huawei might be all about their Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro nowdays, the company hasn’t forgotten about its previous phablet flagship. The Chinese manufacturer kicked off its Android Oreo Beta program a few months ago, and now they’ve started seeding Android 8.0 Oreo and EMUI 8 to users around the¬†world.

Aside from all the things that make Android Oreo great, the update also brings many of the same software features and functionality from the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro to the Mate 9, which includes the project desktop mode, as well as some AI related features.

If the update hasn’t reached your phone yet, don’t fret – the update has only begun rolling out in China, so it may take a while for it to arrive on your phone.
