Huawei’s Next Phones Will Have QHD Displays

Huawei’s finally looking to use QHD displays on its phones

Huawei, the company that’s not afraid of trying out new designs and camera concepts, doesn’t seem to want to put QHD displays on their phones. If you discount the collaborative Nexus 6P made for Google, none of Huawei’s phones sport resolutions higher than full HD – that includes their recently announced P9.

That’s soon to change – Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu, has gone on record to say that they’re now willing to included a QHD display in their next smartphone. Why the change? Well, like other companies Huawei is now also heavily investing in VR, and full HD displays pale in comparison with QHD displays when used in a VR headset. Who knew that VR would be the turning poing for displays with Huawei?
