A mid-range version of the Kirin 970 in essence
While Huawei’s Kirin 970 is a powerhouse, Huawei is applying some of the Kirin 970’s features to its mid-range processors. In fact, rumors about the Kirin 670 point to the upcoming mid-range chip to have an NPU just like the Kirin 970.
Other rumored features of the Kirin 670 include two Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex A-53 cores, along with a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. The Kirin 670 will be manufactured using a 12nm process. As for performance, expect the Kirin 670 to be significantly better than the Kirin 659.
