Is this an updated Mate 7?
One of the best phones that Huawei released last year was their 6-inch phablet, the Mate 7. The Mate 7 had a lot of things going for it, including a fairly large and beautiful display, powerful processor, fingerprint scanner and premium design. It seems like the company is updating the Mate 7 with a better processor and a force touch display. What’s a force touch display, you ask? Well, it’s a display that knows how much force you impart on the display and knows the difference between a light or heavy tap.
The Mate S is listed as having the HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage along with a fingerprint scanner and LTE support. The Mate S also seems to have received an upgrade in the camera section, as the phone now has a 20-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front. A 4100mAh battery rounds out the specs, along with Android 5.1 and EMUI.
The phone is expected to retail for $599 or Php 27.9K according to OPPO Mart.
