IFA 2017: ASUS Launches Three New 2-in-1 Notebooks and a Mixed Reality Headset

More slender notebooks for everyone

While ASUS has introduced a whole line of ZenFone 4 smartphones a few weeks ago, this does not stop the Taiwanese company to introduce new products for this year’s IFA. For its laptop line, ASUS introduced two new ZenBooks and one new VivoBook, all sporting an ultra thin profile while having performance-level specs.

 

ZenBook Flip 14

Measuring only 13.9mm thin and weighing just 1.4kg, the ZenBook Flip 14 is the thinnest 2-in-1 laptop offering discrete graphics. Sporting a 360-degree, rotatable 14-inch NanoEdge screen,  the ZenBook Flip 14 has the size of a 13-inch laptop while offering a larger display. Options include an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 quad-core processor, up to 16GB RAM, NVidia GeForce MX150 graphics card, up to 512GB PCIe SSD, and a Harman Kardon Audio System. With all its specs and features, the ZenBook 14’s battery is good for up to 13 hours, and has a quick charging feature, where a 15-minute charge can give you 2 hours of HD video streaming.

The ZenBook Flip 14 is available in Icicle Gold and Slate Grey, and will be priced starting at 799 Euros (~Php48.9k).

 

ZenBook Flip 15

The ZenBook Flip 14’s bigger brother boasts of a360-degree, rotatable 15.6-inch NanoEdge 4K UHD or FHD display with 178? wide-view technology. Options include along with a gaming-grade NVidia GTX1050 graphics card, 8th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to a 2TB HDD and 512GB SSD. It also features USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3, and a four-speaker Harman Kardon Audio System.

The ZenBook Flip 15 is available in Smoky Grey and Pure Silver, and will be priced starting at 899 Euros (~Php55k).

 

VivoBook Flip 14

Measuring only 15.4mm thin and weighing just 1.5kg, the VivoBook Flip 14 uses a fanless design, ensuring the 2-in-1 laptop to be quiet while at full power with its 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor. While it is sized like a 13-inch laptop, its 14-inch Full HD NanoEdge display boasts of a 74.3 percent screen-to-body ratio and 178? wide-view technology.

The VivoBook Flip 14 will be priced starting at 399 Euros (~Php24.4k).

 

Windows Mixed Reality Headset

Aside from new notebooks, ASUS continues its partnership with Microsoft with the introduction of the Windows Mixed Reality Headset. What makes the headset unique is its easy setup, as it does not need additional sensors or software to make use of Microsoft’s technology in bringing virtual reality to users. Bringing the mixed reality experience are two built-in front-facing tracking cameras with six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position tracking. It weighs a shy under 400 grams, and has premium antibacterial cushioned materials, making it comfortable to use for extended periods of time.

 The Windows Mixed Reality Headset will be priced starting at 449 Euros (~Php27.5k).
