Alcatel’s Newest Waterproof Smartphone and Smartwatch Combo
Gadget announcements just keep coming from IFA in Germany! This time we have a budget duo of Alcatel’s newest smartphone and smartwatch. Both devices highlight their durability as their main selling point as they’re both shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof with IP 67 rating.
The Alcatel OneTouch Go Watch features proprietary software. It doesn’t run on Android Wear but it does offer some pretty cool features. One of them is called “Emotion Pulse Measurement”. You press the “Go” button and the various sensors of the watch will give you a graphic of your pulse and you can embed this over a theme and then upload it to your social networking sites. Other than that it does the usual smartwatch stuff like notifications (SMS, e-mail, calls when paired).
Next we have the Alcatel OneTouch Go Play smartphone. It’s an entry level device that features a good display, mediocre internals, but it does sport that IP67 rating. You can actually take photos underwater with this. It also comes in eight colors so you get to pick the one that matches your personality/style.
