iPhone 5C stands for Colors, Not Cheap
The official prices (US) of the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S are out and they’re definitely not as “cheap” as people hoped they would be, especially the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5C 16GB model sells for $549 (Php23,349) while the iPhone 5C 32GB variant goes for $649 (Php27,907). Knowing how the taxes are here locally it should be 10%-15% more expensive. We’re guessing that the iPhone 5C 16GB model will go for around Php25,000 while the 32GB will sell for Php29,000-Php30,000. If you think about it though that’s actually around Php8,000 cheaper than the iPhone 5 model when it first came out locally.
The prices of the iPhone 5S are a little more similar to the iPhone 5 when it first launched. See below for the price matrix. The 16GB goes for the same price as the 5C 32GB and adds increments of Php4,300 afterwards for the 32GB and 64GB models.

This is the part where the telcos come in. Prepaid unlocked prices are still kinda high but both units will definitely be more affordable with the postpaid plans of the telcos. Knowing the level of competition here we can expect really good offers when they launch the device locally in December. Here’s our guess on how the devices will be sold via postpaid:
iPhone 5C: Unlimited Data Plan 1500
iPhone 5S: Unlimited Data Plan 2000
Note that these are just guesstimates. Hopefully the iPhone 5C will be even much lower (*crosses fingers*).
