After Lollipop is Marshmallow!

Google has been teasing Android M for the several months now and there have been a lot of wild guesses on what “M” stood for. Today it’s no longer a mystery. Google just officially announced that Android “M” is actually Android Marshmallow. The timing is actually perfect since Google is scheduled to talk more about Android Marshmallow at IFA which takes place 1st week September in Germany.

So should we be excited for Android Marshmallow? From what we’ve seen it’s not really a major game changer. It’s more of optimizations and user experience tweaks than a massive transformation. GreenBot put together a very helpful slideshow where you guys can go through all the changes. Check it out here.

PS: Initial details about Android Marshmallow surfaced earlier this year during Google I/O 2015. We’ve embedded the full keynote speech below for your viewing pleasure. We also embedded the preview video of The Verge.
