Lenovo Announces K5 and K5 Play in China

A pair of budget mid-rangers worth looking at

Lenovo has been pretty busy with its smartphone business: Following the launch of the S5 a few days ago, Lenovo has more phones in line with the K5 and K5 Play. Both phones sport a 5.7-inch display and come with a glossy back. Let’s talk about the differences

The Lenovo K5 Play comes with a Snapdragon 430 processor, along with 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear cameras, an 8-megapixel f/2.0 front camera, a fingerprint scanner, and a 3000mAh battery. It comes with Android Oreo and ZUI 3.7 out of the box.

The Lenovo K5, on the other hand, uses a MediaTek 6750 processor and has 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13-megapixel f/2.2 and 5-megapixel f/2.0 rear cameras, an 8-megapixel f/2.0 front camera, a fingerprint scanner, and a 3000mAh battery. What’s disappointing though is that the K5 comes with Android Nougat and ZUI 3.1 Lite out of the box.

The Lenovo K5 and K5 Play will retail in China for CNY899(~Php 7.5k) and CNY699(~Php 5.9k) respectively.
