LG Launches LG Pay In South Korea

LG has their own payment system

LG has officially unveiled their own payment solution to rival Apple and Samsung’s offerings. Dubbed LG Pay, the new payment system is now live and available in the company’s home country of South Korea.

LG’s offering uses Wireless Magnetic Communication technology, compared to the Magnetic Secure Transmission technology used in Samsung Pay.

LG Pay customers only have to touch their mobile phones to credit card readers, though they will still have to authorize each payment via fingerprint.

Currently four credit cards support LG Pay: Shinhan, KB, BC and Lotte.

LG G6 owners get to use the service first, with other phones to follow. No word yet when it’ll venture outside of South Korea.
