LG also has their own action cam

As if the action camera market wasn’t crowded enough, LG’s also thrown their hat into the ring with their unimaginatively named Action CAM LTE. Aside from looking like a longer GoPro Session, LG’s action camera has the ability to livestream video to YouTube and other places as long as there’s cellular data present.

The camera has a 12-megapixel sensor that’s capable of shooting in 4K at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 frames per second and up to 120 frames per second on 720p. Unfortunately though, if you’re utilizing the livestreaming feature of the camera your footage will be downgraded to just 720p for easier and more reliable transmission.

Aside from the livestreaming feature, the Action CAM LTE also has a GPS module inside as well as motion sensors, and can be submerged for 30 minutes in water up to 1 meter deep without a case without any ill effects. LG says that the new camera is part of its “Friends” line of accessories for the G5, but we gather it’ll be able to work with other phones via the companion app that it ships with. No price has been set for this action camera as of yet.
