Yes, there’s still a market for big-screened laptops
These days, most laptops sport a 13-inch or 15-inch displays. It is rare to find a laptop with both a slim body and a display bigger than 15-inches, but LG thinks otherwise with the Gram 17.
As the name speaks for itself, it is a slim laptop with a 17.3-inch display. Housed in a magnesium alloy chassis, the Gram 17 is 0.7 inches thick and weighs 2.95 pounds—which is a feat by itself as the big-screened laptop weighs roughly the same as most 13-inch laptops in the market today.
Powering it is a Core i7-8565u processor with Intel 620 UHD Shared Graphics, 16 GB DDR4-2400 RAM, and a 512 GB SATA SSD. Because it has a skinny chassis, it is physically impossible to squeeze in a dedicated GPU, which might turn off those who are eyeing this for gaming or heavy photo/video editing. However, the trade-off for this is longer battery life: LG claims that the Gram 17’s 4-cell battery can last up to 19.5 hours on a single charge.
Ports on the Gram 17 include 3x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-C 3.1, HDMI port, MicroSD card reader, and a combo headphone jack. Other features include a webcam with IR sensor, a fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers.
The Gram 17 is priced at $1699(~Php 89.7k), which is a good price for a 17-inch laptop that weighs roughly the same as a 13-inch laptop.
