Nokia’s Lumia 1520 best mobile gaming machine?
It’s pretty common knowledge that the Windows Phone OS is better optimized compared to Android. Any longtime Windows Phone user will tell you that the Windows Phone user experience is comparatively smoother even with middlin’ hardware, something that’s not always true with Android. This translates to a better gaming experience as well through the Windows Phone Marketplace’s (steadily) growing cache of games. It seems that optimization allowed the Lumia 1520 to beat out the still unreleased Galaxy S5 in Rightmark’s gaming benchmark tests, which makes the Lumia 1520 the ultimate smartphone for mobile gaming, as far as their benchmarks are concerned.

Which is surprising, because the Galaxy S5 packs Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 801 processor, compared to the relatively slightly weaker Snapdragon 800 in the Lumia 1520. Of course, since this is a gaming test, it’s important to note that both devices use the same Adreno 330 GPU.

Other phones included in the company’s top five include the Asus PadFone Infinity 2, Pantech Vega Secret Note IM-A890 and the Xperia Z Ultra. The inclusion of the Galaxy S5 in the test is a bit suspect though, since no other recently announced flagship was included the test.
